Our client, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of textile products for the aviation interiors sector, is seeking an experienced Seat Cover Fitter to join their dedicated team on a night shift basis.

As a Seat Cover Fitter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and high-quality installation of aircraft seat covers and curtains. You will work closely with the team to maintain compliance with safety regulations and contribute to the smooth operation of the facility.

Seat Cover Fitter Responsibilities:

• Aircraft Seat Cover Installation: Change aircraft seat covers and curtains according to established procedures and safety standards, ensuring a precise fit and proper installation techniques.
• Biohazardous Materials Handling: Safely handle and contain biohazardous materials, separating them from items that will be returned to the warehouse for cleaning. Adhere to strict protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
• Compliance with 5S Requirements: Work within the facility in compliance with the 5S methodology, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and adherence to workplace standards.
• Delivery Assistance: Assist Stores workers with unloading deliveries, ensuring accurate counting, and handling of incoming materials.
• Health and Safety: Adhere to the company’s health and safety policies, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and always following safe work practices.
• Training and Development: Complete a two-week training period during the day, Monday to Friday, to acquire necessary skills and knowledge for the role. Stay updated on industry trends, safety regulations, and operating procedures.
• Communication: Maintain excellent communication with team members, supervisors, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operations.

Seat Cover Fitter Requirements:

• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with the team and follow instructions accurately.
• Manual handling experience to safely handle and install seat covers and curtains.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, safety standards, operating instructions, and procedures.
• Valid Driving Licence to perform tasks requiring transportation of materials and staff to Heathrow airport.
• Willingness to undergo a reference check spanning five years, which is a requirement for obtaining an airside pass.
• Flexibility to work on a 4 on 4 off night shift pattern from 20:00 to 6:30, guaranteeing 40+ hours of work per week.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects.

More details about the seat cover fitter role:

• The first two weeks will be on training , day shifts Mon to Thu 8H00 – 17H00, Fri 8H00 – 14H00;
• Overtime available at great rates of pay ( Mon to Fri 1+ ¼ , Sat 1+ ½, Sun 1 + ¾ )
• 5 years reference check will be required as part of compulsory airside pass application.
• Working at Heathrow airport
